Below is one e-mail conversation I've had between Nicole S. who is a current leasing agent.

I do live here so in all honesty yes I would absolutly live here and plan to stay another year if not longer, I lived here prior to even working here at West Tech Lofts. I worked at another apartment complex in which I will not say the name and did NOT support the product there. If you think this is bad, believe me I have seen worse and have lived in worse, imagine walking out of your apartment door and seeing a stabbing victim laying on your stairs. That's not like that here. You can post this if you like, but I am stating that occasionally the alarms do go off, and myself and Gina will both come out of our apartments whenever it goes off and we will find out if it is a false alarm or not and contact Dan right away. He lives about 10 minutes away and gets here ASAP to talk to the fire department and shut the alarm off. Is this frustrating? Yes sometimes but again it could be much worse and from what I've heard that it is MUCH MUCH better than it used to be, again I wasn't here then so I don't know. 
And this is coming NOT as a leasing agent because I live here and pay rent just as you do and if I showed you the apartment, and took you on tour and rented it to you and you HATE it, that is upsetting to me. I never meant to mislead you and if you absolutly hate it here, West Tech Offers a buy out agreement in which you forefit your security deposit and pay 1 months rent and move out. There is no huge penalty for terminating your lease, your not held responsible for a reoccuring rental charge monthly until your apartment is rented, no marks against your rental history. 
And if you've seen me moving I would like to make note that I'm moving to a larger apartment. I love living here, I've had no problems but if you are let me know, you now have my personal email address Although I ask that you not use my personal email address as a venting service, or give it out to the world, you are a very articulate and well spoken individual and I would hope that you can respect my privacy. you can use my resource email address:NSwartzlander@resourceresidential.com if you have any concerns, problems that need addressed that we can look further into. Again this email is NOT coming from me as a leasing agent, I do have a personal life outside of work, and I really wouldn't want to move anywhere else even given the chance,and this is my personal opinion and statements.

I do not think that saying this apartment COULD be much worse is a valid argument. It's nice to know that you agree this place is bad, why else would you say it could be much WORSE. Just the other day I was outside and the apartment when security and police were investigating a shooting that took place just across the street from the apartment complex!!! THE GUY WITH THE GUN WAS ON THE RUN.
This brings me to a major security concern.  How can the apartment complex justify NOT having access to the building from all doors when events such as that occurs regularly. Most doors you can exit from, but CAN'T enter, you must walk to the opposite side of the building to gain entrance. I know this issue was brought to the attention of west tech staff before, and it has yet to be addressed.  I will be posting this email I am sending you on my website this way when someone leaves the building to smoke a cigarette, walk their dog, or get fresh air- and they cannot re-enter and are forced to walk the dark empty area alone to find a door to re-enter and they get shot, stabbed, or raped west tech lofts can say they didn't know this may have been an issue and they will be held liable for damages.  Also Nicole, a lot of things you told me on my initial tour of the building such as "this is going to get fixed, this is going to get added, etc" has not even been touched...none of it. I can't give specifics as you'll probably remember who I am and then I'll begin to be harassed by the staff but next time you tell someone that something will be done, you should personally ensure that it happens... not only is your credibility riding on it, but the credibility of west tech lofts and resource residential. I end with this.  If you do not think this place is bad, why do you compare it to your previous experience of dead bodies in your stair-well; which also goes to show your history of picking good places to live.
