West Tech Lofts is a terrible apartment.
Why?
To start off: The SECOND (2nd) day I was living here, I went outside for a cigarette at about 3 in the morning (working nights, I had just got home not too long before) and was almost jumped by two guys. Had I not watched them as they were walking, and had the common sense to get inside, I would have ended up robbed at the very least. Possibly dead. The guys were yanking on the door, swearing profanely at me, to open the door. Yeah... like that's going to happen.
--- What a way to be welcomed to the neighbor'hood', right! ---
When I take my dog outside, I have to keep one eye on the door. Why? Because the area that has the fence in space for walking your dog (which was only just put up... after being told MONTHS ago that it was going to be fixed "soon") has no key-fob scanner. So if someone closes the doors behind me, then I am screw and half to walk about an eighth of a mile (not exaggerating) to be able to get back inside. Not only could I be robbed, raped, killed, ect... but what happens to someone that is handicapped if they go out that door mistakenly? It is not handicapped accessible, but they would not even be able to get back inside. NOT ACCEPTABLE
At night I can never sleep. The walls seems solid, but they let sounds through a lot. I can hear my neighbors' conversations sometimes if my TV is not on.
The halls, aside from smelling like weed ALL THE TIME, are not cleaned very well. I have seen the janitors here during the day. Why do the doors always feel like there is something wet and slimy on them 2 minutes after they are clean? And for the rest of the day as well?
The garbage chute area is atrocious! Let me ask this: How flipping hard is it to get a simple recording device mounted in there to find out who is leaving there garbage sitting there instead of throwing it in the dumpster? I mean just earlier I saw a dead tree in there (No joke) that fit in the chute perfectly. I am tired of cleaning up the mess of lazy people. I have to; otherwise, I can't throw my stuff away. And I'm not a lazy slob like most of the people living here.
This place is a high-priced POS place to live. My suggestion for people thinking about moving in here:
RUN... RUN FAR AWAY, AND NEVER LOOK BACK.
I wish this site would have been around when I had been searching for places to live.
(PS: A lot of drunks walk around here at night, too. Plus a weird looking stray cat that I swear looks like it could have some messed up diseases. NOT KID FRIENDLY EITHER)
